I don’t know why, now it seems I become into this “parade” photoshoot specialist. Some of the job offer has been asking me to do this kind of “parade” photoshoot. I don’t know whether they’re trusting my skill or just give this very complicated and exhausting kind of shoot to contributor. Afterall, I did it though.
So, Monik Wulandari, the Group Head of Fashion Editor from Female Indonesia, asked me to do this interesting shoot, the parade shoot of eight JIM Models using swimsuit. It was sure a one of my trully complicated and exhausting photoshoot for editorial, in the same time exciting. Since it was hard arranging the all model’s schedules so we decided to divide them into two groups in two days photoshoot. The ideas were we’re showing all eight models with their plain swimsuits for the opening pages, then I added somethings to the each swimsuit to make it more fashion and editorial. With this spread I would also like to show people that swimsuit shot is not always end up as tacky and cheap, with the right models, photographer, makeup artist, and also touch of poshness, it may turn out fierce!
Showcasing the work of Indonesian local designers such as Barli Asmara, Denny Wirawan, Priyo Oktaviano, and Tasha D. Gioielli, this editorials also supported by International high end brands such as Louis Vuitton and Tom Ford Eyewear from Optik Seis.

This editorial portfolio was shot not long after the SOAP tragedy. Back then I’m still pissed and full of anger. Helping my one of beloved photographers, Glenn Prasetya, whose quite possesed with this fresh face model that SOAP discover, Julius Ryan Karsten from Platinvm Agency, we made this slightly sensual editorial.
If I was not mistaken, this portfolio was also a rush and hush hush session. The preparation was only two days with the support from Deden Siswanto and SPOUS by Priyo Oktaviano. With only not so many outfits and time, we managed this shoot smoothly and turned it out into ten hot shot looks. Showing lots of skins, compliments to the body, and as well the sexy ambience of artificial sunlight and shadow made this session was a total “Heat” that guarantee can “Strokes” people out. Enjoy!

When the first time I jump into media industry, fashion none otherwise, I was straightly fell in love with it. Keeping an eye on details and trends, interpreting collections, and realizing ideas and imaginary look in your head are such a milestone feelings. Started as a freelancing stylist and then interning in male fashion media industry has taught me munch to think of out of the box yet mesmerizing people and nonetheless understandable. Now after more or less two and a half years in Fashion Media Industry, as an in-house editor, head of division, freelance editors, speaker, you name it, I’m dreaming to lead and having my own fashion magazine for sure. POSH it is on my list as one of my future hope.
If you may see the cleanness, edge style, and simple layout, I do inspired by a couple of my favorites magazine of all time, Numero and Black. I love to do cover, since it gives you extra feelings of joy and proud. Here is my one concrete example what it will looks like if I will have my own magazine in the future. Yes, I will call it POSH!
For the 8th edition, which is on August 2009 in my head, the theme itself will be called Heritage due to Indonesia’s Independence day. Showing an edgy model and look with Balinese woven dress by Priyo Oktaviano Couture, I also attaching the nowadays trend of extra volume in shoulders area. The intention is to show that heritage may walk side by side with trends and also look fresh and appealing.

Firstly I wasn’t intended to publish this as an editorial. I made this editorial actually only for portfolio with Julius Bramanto Zulkarnaen and Kristell back then in August 2008. The wardrobes are fresh from the runway by Priyo Oktaviano Couture, the next day after show to be exact. With only three set of looks, I wanted to be in at least six frames, so I decided to put it 3 fashion shots and 3 beauty shots.
Embodied bright colors and Geisha-inspired hairpieces along with Balinese weaving, I’m in love with this multicultural collection. So I added other Indonesian look at the hair style that inspired from Indonesian puppetry, Bima’s hairstyle.
Fast forward to October 2008, I was asked to make an editorial spread for Swank Glossy November 2008 issue, our sister magazine at that time, but the result was not pass my qualification. Then I decided to use this as the editorial that published in the magazine. This was my last portfolio for them, before I ended up having a feud with them.

This portfolio was flown away to Milan, and it became one of my pride to say it so. This is a collection that Priyo Oktaviano made exclusively for Batik Danar Hadi due to its program to bring Batik Indonesia to a global market, and yes this collection has been presented in Milan.
The collection itself was inspired by Heroines from traditional Javanese puppetries stories, Srikandi, Drupadi, Kunti, Arimbi, Larasati, Wara Sembrada, Trijata, and Rengganis. Priyo would like to show pictures of Indonesian women like these heroines, soft, sensual, religious but yet powerful and strong in her own way. Therefore, I was remember of French Heroine, Jeanne D’Arc who has some of similar characteristics that Priyo wants to pictures. Using material Batik Tulis Keraton Solo from Batik Danar Hadi, Priyo chose timeless basic technique, drapes, that embrace traditional twist which gives the look become more elegant and embelished it with gold metal stud and accents to put the strength to it.

It’s actually an unplanned photo shoot, just for fun shoot if I may say so. It’s for Julius Bramanto Zulkarnaen’s portfolio with Yulia, one of Indonesia’s recent top models. Embracing the spirit of shoulder pad trend, I mixed local culture Balinese woven of Priyo Oktaviano’s collection and my personal collection of Flores woven with vintage stuffs from my assistant’s on-line shop collection, Welovemonday.
